Dr. Sven Brandt is partner in the Frankfurt office of Hogan Lovells and heads the German capital markets practice. He has extensive experience in asset finance, capital markets (both interest and dividend-paying stock), structured finance (including derivatives), debt repackaging and securitisation.
Sven Brandt focuses on asset and structured finance transactions, capital markets products and regulatory implications of securities trading and settlement. Sven was a member of both the German regulators' (BaFin) and the Association of German Banks (BdB) securitisation leading working groups.

Dr Dietmar Helms is very familiar with securitization transactions in Germany and has outstanding experience in cross-border financings in Europe. Long before other lawyers discovered the potential of the growing fintech industry and sharing economy, Dietmar Helms advised on several benchmark transactions and helped start-up companies raise debt capital through customized structured financings. He recently structured and advised on the first European solar loan and heat pump loan receivables and created a new asset class for green energy securitisations. His experience is recognized through recommendations as a "frequently recommended lawyer" by IFLR, Chambers, JUVE, Legal 500 and Best Lawyers. Dietmar Helms’ first solar loan securitisation won awards by Global Capital and IFLR as most innovative private securitisation of the year.

Dr Julian Fischer

Julian Fischer is partner in our Hogan Lovells’ Frankfurt Office and a member of our international debt capital markets practice group. Julian Fischer advises banks and financial services providers as well as family offices and funds on securitisations (including RMBS transactions) and other structured refinancing transactions as well as on the structuring and origination of underlying loan and mezzanine portfolios. His experience is both broad – including various asset classes, but also narrow, focussing in particular on real estate transactions. He is also covering the regulatory aspects (CRR, investment law) of such transactions, both from an originator’s and investor’s side.
In addition, he has more than 10 years of experience in financial restructurings, in particular in the context of financial market stabilization measures, and the sale and transfer of performing and non-performing credit and derivatives portfolios. In more recent years, he has been involved in several cross-border bond restructurings in the real estate space.

He also has extensive experience in debt portfolio sale transactions. He further advises on financing transactions, including syndicated loan and promissory note (Schuldscheindarlehen) transactions.
Before joining the firm, Lennart acquired several years of experience at a large English law firm in Frankfurt in the area of banking and finance, with a particular focus on restructuring.

She focuses on all legal aspects of debt capital markets products including derivatives and asset backed as well as other debt issuance programmes. In particular, Anna has gathered wide experience in advising banks, issuers and originators on trade receivables and auto loan securitisations.
Anna studied law at the University of Trier and obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand. During her legal traineeship, Anna was employed at the district court of Mainz and at the Frankfurt office of a major Swedish law firm.

Securitization and other structured asset backed finance instruments

Hogan Lovells' Structured Finance and Securitisation team is based in our Amsterdam, Dubai, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, London, Madrid, Milan, Moscow, New York, Paris, Singapore, Tokyo and Warsaw offices and operates on an integrated basis internationally and across industries. We have extensive expertise in Germany and internationally in advising on the tax optimized structuring of securitization transactions and other structured asset backed finance instruments (ABCP-programs, CDOs, securitization of lease and trade receivables, consumer loans, including credit card and auto loans, RMBS, CMBS, commercial and private mortgage securitization). We have extensive industry specific expertise in those sectors in which securitizations and structured asset backed finance instruments are frequently used, e.g. in the automotive and financial sector as well as in the real estate and transportation sector. Clients include originators of securitised assets, managers and arrangers, investors, trustees, rating agencies and portfolio managers. In these areas, we frequently advise on national and international portfolio transactions and debt funds.
